European Lager and Australian Pale Ale

Okay. It's still a little early but we can't resist product testing. The European Lager has been in the keg in my fridge now for at least 7 weeks. So today I pulled a complete pint to taste. Maybe it's the 90°heat here, but it was pure heaven.  We also kegged the Australian Pale that we made last week. I did a little sampling of that as well and except for the fact that it's not carbonated, it is ready to drink now. It will improve with age however.

we just brewed the European Lager, seems you really have to let it Ferment out, gave it 8 days before bottling, just tried it 3 weeks later, it's perfect, great head , color & taste.<br>this is our 2nd home brew, the 1st was bottled too soon, too much head and bad/sugary? taste.<br>It seems you really have to give them time to ferment out

I purchased the kit and it was TONS of fun during the first phase of brewing! One quick question though, what is the recommended final gravity for the lager that was included in the brewing kit? Thanks and we are looking forward to bottle our beer soon!!

Hi Jeff,<br><br>Final gravity should be in 1.006 range. If you are close to that you are all set!<br>Cheers

"@Bob I would force carbonate your beer instead of using the carbonation drops. How big is your keg? Standard Cornelius kegs are 5 gallons. This will leave about a gallon of extra beer to bottle. Use the carbonation drops in the bottles. If you want to naturally carb the beer in your keg, use about 1/4 cup of corn sugar (dextrose) boiled with a 1/4 cup of water. Add to keg first. Add the beer. Seal. Leave at room temperature for a week while the yeast produces CO2." Read more
